If you are going to do your own plumbing, the only thing I would suggest is that you use either copper or high-pressure hose such as pex tubing. Do not use pvc as a permanent solution because the maximum pressure rating is less that 300 psi and much less when heated.
This is an excellent way to save on electricity (if you have an electric water heater), or on energy in general.

I am curious what the outside air temp.is during the pre heater video and what the climate effects are on the pre heater as far as air temp. Is direct sun light the primary heating factor and does ground temp play an important roll in a climate with a 30″ frost depth. How would this issue best be addressed?
I think he said the outside air temp was between 60 and 70 degrees. The chamber is heavily insulated so it should be unaffected by outside temperature. If you have to run your preheated water underground, I’m not sure how that would affect your efficiency even if it were below the frost line. I probably wouldn’t risk running water through the system in cold weather situations.
